Examine container/cargo scanner images and
identify anomalies, concealments,
density/material inconsistencies, undeclared
or suspicious goods, and other indicators
requiring further Customs action.
Compare scan images with the AI’s findings,
manifest, Goods Declaration, and other
available cargo/container information to
assess consistency between the declared goods
and the scanned contents.
Use scanner image-processing and AI-assisted
tools, including zoom, contrast/enhancement,
material discrimination, measurement/annotation
and automated alerts, while independently
validating the image before recording a
finding.
Record a clear and standardized image-analysis
result for every assigned scan, distinguishing
cases requiring further examination/review
from those where no significant anomaly is
observed, and escalate complex or doubtful
images to the designated supervisory/RIAC
level.
Maintenance of image-analysis results, case
references, decisions and subsequent physical
examination/seizure outcomes for audit,
quality review and performance monitoring.
Prepare and transmit concise official reports,
discrepancy notes, referrals, alerts and other
required communications to the concerned
Customs formations/officers in accordance with
prescribed SOPs and timelines.
Maintain and update the reference image/case
library by adding validated cases,
representative concealment methods,
significant anomalies and confirmed examination
outcomes, with appropriate indexing for future
comparison and training.
Use feedback from physical examinations,
seizures and supervisory reviews to update case
records and improve future image interpretation;
identify recurring concealment patterns,
commodities, routes or image-analysis trends
for reporting to supervisors.
Ensure confidentiality, integrity and
authorized handling of scanner images, cargo
data and analytical findings; comply with
access-control, data-retention,
information-security and evidentiary
requirements.
Participate in proficiency testing, refresher
training, case-review sessions and quality
assurance exercises, and maintain the required
level of image-reading accuracy and
consistency.
Compliance to FBR’s standards and directions
with respect to conduct, punctuality and
performance.
